Guam - Members of the 2012 Pacific Asia Travel Association Micronesia Chapter are on island for their annual chapter meeting and bi-annual election hosted by the Guam Visitors Bureau. Members were also treated by a seminar from PATA regional director Chris Flynn on MPower, a fully integrated online data and research platform.

"Not only can you target the audience or potential visitors better you can target them instantaneous, immediately; you can find this information straight away whereas before you would spend weeks," he said.

Outgoing Micronesia Chapter chairman Grant Ismael says his island of Kosrae is looking forward to using the new technology. "Whether we present a budget hearing to our state leadership, legislatures, governors or we try to evaluate what the island industry situation is like this would be a tool would really help us make it easier," he said.

Ismael adds Kosrae is looking at growing its eco-tourism industry.
