New police colonel named

Guam - A Guam Police Department captain will take on the role as the highest-ranking police officer effective Sunday.  Captain Maurice Sayama has been selected as the new police colonel for GPD. 

Sayama is currently the bureau chief in charge of the Criminal Investigations Division.  The position has not been permanently filled since the retirement of Colonel Joaquin Reyes back in March 2010.
