DOE looks for more double-session funding
by Krystal Paco
Guam - While science, technology, engineering, and mathematics renovations continue at George Washington High School, the Department of Education is working to identify more funding to pay for the lease of busses and bus driver overtime for double-session at the Mangilao campus. DOE superintendent Jon Fernandez says they're looking at a mixture of federal funds to include ARRA money.
Already $150,000 was expended from ARRA funds.
Phase I of renovations was completed by the October deadline, but DOE extended double-session to December to ensure student safety as fixtures and equipment must be installed and roofing repairs on the school are also underway.
