Couple admits to smuggling drugs

Guam - A couple caught smuggling more than a thousand grams of the drug Ice concealed in a bra and the soles of their shoes entered guilty pleas in the District Court of Guam today. Kalidhassan Magalingam and Kaali Chellathura agreed to cooperate with federal authorities.

The couple, who are citizens of Malaysia, say they were offered $8,000 to travel to Hong Kong and were given a bra and shoes to wear to Guam and deliver to an unknown person locally. They were detained when they were found in possession of the drugs.

They face a minimum of ten years behind bars with a maximum of life in prison and are scheduled to be sentenced on March 20.
