Guam - The Guam International Airport Authority is closing off its solicitation for a new consultant tomorrow. Airport spokesperson Rolenda Faasuamalie says the new consultant will assist with airport business and development. She says the airport is budgeted to bring on this consultant that will include subconsultant services. As for the price of the service, she says that's a matter that will be negotiated by the board.

"It's to assist management in aviation issues specific airport policies and capital improvement projects that would be required to keep us on the forefront of the aviation industry, so we're looking at a specialized consultant for those purposes," she said.

In the meantime, the airport's board of directors today approved a $430,000 request for proposal for N.C. Macario and Associates to provide A&E services for pipeline a hydrant system at the airport's north and south ramp. The project is federally funded by the Office of Insular Affairs.
