Guam - The U.S. Coast Guard is leading a cleanup effort at the Port Authority of Guam's F1 Pier managed by Tristar. According to Port Spokesperson Bernadette Meno at around three o'clock this morning the Nordrose Oil Ship was conducting normal operations in discharging oil to the Guam Power Authority, but as they were completing their work an accident occurred. An estimated 200 gallons of oil spilled onto the ramp, into the water, and on the pressure valve of the main Tristar fuel pipeline. Meno adds Guam EPA, the U.S. Coast Guard along with Tristar's contractors responded. Cleanup efforts are ongoing.
