GPA: Smart Meters safe and secure
Guam - After holding a public outreach on its Smart Meter program this past weekend, Guam Power Authority general manager Joaquin Flores continued the education campaign by speaking before the Rotary Club of Northern Guam, discussing the benefits, installation process and any questions customers may have about the Smart Grid and Smart Meters. Flores addressed concerns raised in the community, saying GPA is trying to promote a program that will make a difference and save ratepayers on their energy costs.
"Status quo is not an option, so we're promoting smart grid and we believe it's safe, it's secure, and it will make a difference 024737 I think just on fuel savings alone, I think our estimates are nearly $5 million a year," he said.
More public outreach events are planned for the next coming weeks.
