PUC greenlights $3M in Port security upgrades
by Nick Delgado
Guam - The Port Authority of Guam received the green light to move forward with nearly $3 million worth of security upgrades. The Public Utilities Commission last night approved the construction contract for the Port's security enhancement project. Maeda Pacific was awarded the contract for the construction of the maritime and Port Security Operations Center and the installation of a closed circuit security surveillance system, radio communications and security access control.
The $3 million project is completely federally-funded and will begin once the Port's legal counsel finalizes the contract with the company.
