Guam - Preparations for the Guam National Guard's largest deployment ever continued today. More than 200 family members of the 1-294th Infantry Regiment participated in today's deployment briefing. State Family Program director Major Jesse Pendon, Jr. says the yellow ribbon event is to help family members better prepare for their loved one's deployment.

"Today's event were concentrating on giving family members information on benefits that may or will be entitled to when their soldier's deploy and giving them resources, contacts for family matters or any emotional needs that they will experience prior to deployment, during and after deployment," he said.

About 600 troops are preparing for Guam's largest reserve component mobilization and deployment scheduled for early 2013.
