Guam - While lawmakers will be meeting in session for the next couple of days, Majority Leader Rory Respicio says he will push for an override of vetoed Bill 413, otherwise known as the Election Reform Bill. Respicio believes had the Governor Eddie Calvo signed Bill 413 into law, several of the problems from the general election could have been avoided.

He says the only way to move the bill forward is through bi-partisan support. "So I think given the evidence of what transpired in this last election will compel some members to reconsider their position on the bill and vote for the override," he noted.

Bill 413 passed back in April straight down party lines. Shortly after the governor vetoed the measure expressing concerns with certain provisions and introduced his own version.

Respicio says the governor's version did not address irregularities that were discovered during the 2010 election.
