Guam - With hopes of increasing tourism while building relationships in the process, the Guam International Airport Authority signed a memorandum of understanding with Sendai Airport in Japan, signifying a sister city agreement. Deputy executive manager Peter Roy Martinez says it's an exciting day for Guam.

He said, "And basically what it means is that we become a sister airport and where we will share some ideas and relationship and even exchange tourists coming to the island and going to Japan."

Along with island dignitaries, Miyagi Vice Governor Shuichi Miura and Sendai Airport President Katsuhiko Ito were also in attendance.

Guam has four flights coming from Sendai per week.
