Guam - It was over a week ago when Committee of Health chairman Senator Dennis Rodriguez, Jr. held his second roundtable meeting on the Patient Protection Affordability Care Act. The meeting was called after the Attorney General's Office responded to questions over Obamacare's impact to Guam, in which they responded by saying the applicability could have serious financial ramifications locally.

Rodriguez says the next step is whether to use a million-dollar grant to help determine the viability of setting up a health insurance exchange. He said, "One problem that Guam had is that if we don't set up an exchange and we use it, we'll have to pay it back, so we talked about having the government, the Administration seek revision to those terms from HSS, and so we're waiting for that if they go out and seek that request to revise it."

Rodriguez adds Congresswoman Madeleine Bordallo has agreed to send some guidance and work with local stakeholders to see what needs to be amended in Obamacare relative to impacts to Guam.
