Guam - A man who allegedly had sexual relations with a 13-year-old girl was granted another bail modification this morning. Robert Baker Jr. faces 1st degree criminal sexual conduct charges. His attorney Curtis Van De Veld filed a motion to modify his release conditions, since one his third-party custodians will be leaving off-island for medical reasons.

However, Assistant Attorney General Gabrielle Rossi objected to the modification stating the AG's Office is concerned with Baker's behavior while on pretrial release. Rossi notes an anonymous letter sent to their office alleging baker bribed an employee at child protective service with $25,000 to "make the case go away," therefore she told the court this is a clear indication of guilt. Van De Veld argued the letter is erroneous, as the individual baker allegedly bribed is not employed with cps, and probation has no record on file that he violated any conditions of his release.

Judge James canto granted the motion lifting the third party order on baker so that he can continue to work, and set a curfew between 7pm - 6am.

Trial is still set to proceed on December 4 at 9am.
