Guam - Guam Cancer Care received an $800,000 grant from the University of Guam and the Guam Cancer Trust Fund. Guam Cancer Care marketing and program coordinator Charlona Lauron says this money will go to support the non-profit's mission to support cancer patients as well as raise awareness on screenings and healthy lifestyle.

"This money actually helps us continue our services here at Guam Cancer Care. We offer patient navigation we offer financial assistance we also offer our new programs, which are cancer screening and by next week we're also going to have the unveiling of our transportation program," she said. "What this award does is it allows us to continue the services of helping all the cancer patients on island."

Guam Cancer Care has helped more than 300 patients since the non-profit's inception more than a year ago.
