Guam - After two years of negotiations, the Port Authority of Guam board signed a contract for its employees with the Guam Federation of Teachers.  It was in 2008, during the Camacho Administration, GFT received Exclusive Recognition for employees at the Port.  Negotiations with the previous administration's board commenced and ultimately were followed through with the current new set of board of directors.

GFT President Tim Fedenko is quoted in the union's weekly electronic newsletter stating, "This is exciting news as this contract will allow management and workers to work together to ensure they have a safe work environment. This victory for the Port should give all our public workers hope in getting a contract. " GFT is still working on contracts in place for DOE, DPW, GFD, GWA and UOG support staff.
