Guam - Hubtec International Corporation has pleaded guilty to making a false statement in connection with the Route 2 road construction project. Hubtec and president Young Kim have agreed to cooperate with federal authorities and admitted to lying to the feds about the materials he used on the federally funded project.

Kim admitted he used Korean Steel and submitted false reports on two tests regarding the quality of the reinforcement steel bars that were used for the project.  The total loss to the federal government was $150,000.

Sentencing is set for February 21.
