Guam - 50 members of the Judiciary of Guam have committed to participating in the first Government of Guam Active for Life program. Participants will undergo a ten-week cycle of organized physical fitness activities, workshops, lectures, onsite health screenings, healthy food demonstrations, and taste test competitions.
Chief Justice F. Philip Carbullido says he jumped at the opportunity to partner with the American Cancer Society and says his staff is enthused about the new program. "If we have employees who promote a healthy lifestyle in terms of exercise and healthy choice in what they eat they'll have a better disposition and attitude in terms of the workplace and maybe reduce absenteeism," he explained. "It's going to be a positive thing for our judiciary."
The teams will compete for points for incentives and prizes.
