Hagatna Lockup filled to capacity

Guam - The Hagatna Detention Facility exceeded its maximum capacity again early this morning. For several hours DOC had to turn away arrestees made by Guam Police until they could transfer detainees to the Mangilao prison. The prison faces this problem more often now that they have a lack of manpower and a shortage of cell space. 

The prison's overcrowding is something DepCor is still addressing, but only in its planning stages as they work to develop legislation that would help build a new prison facility.
