Guam - University of Guam students are encouraged to express their thoughts about a 10 percent proposed tuition hike that would take effect for the spring semester. For a full-time, 12-credit hour student, the tuition hike would mean an increase in fees estimated at around $228 in Spring 2013.

Legislation has been introduced to avert the rate hike as the university contends it needs more than $1.47 million to prevent passing on education costs to students.

The public hearing is set for 2pm at the UOG Class Lecture Hall.
