Guam - For the first time in the history of the Guam Fire Department, the entire staff of the Fire Prevention Bureau are nationally certified.  Certificates were handed out today recognizing the staff as they are now nationally certified Pro Board Fire Inspectors.  The presentation occurred at today's proclamation signing making October Guam Fire Prevention Month.

Lieutenant Governor Ray Tenorio said, "Everyone of you provides a very vital service to our community.  prevention, fire prevention and making sure that our community is safe is one of the most paramount issues facing any community and every one of you the guys and the ladies are the heroes who not just save lives and ultimately save property."

This year's theme is "Two Ways Out".  Throughout the course of the month, the fire department will be reminding the public of simple actions to take to keep their homes safe.
