Guam - When you buy local, you bring more money to support public health, public education, and overall quality of life. As part of the University of Guam's 60th anniversary, the School of Business and Public Administration continues to push for residents to buy local at their "Buy Local Affair" set for Friday.

Dean of the school Dr. Anita Borja Enriquez says it's important to increase the island's spending multiplier. Currently, for every dollar that's spent, an additional $0.30 multiplies. "The more you spend off island if you buy everything 100% online or on base that's money that's not coming back into the economy," she said.

The event is set for Friday at the SBPA Atrium from 3-7p m. Guam art, music, packaged edible goods and other Guam Product Seal businesses and buy local vendors will be featured.
