Guam - Opening statements were made in the trial for 28-year-old Iacinto Namio today. Namio faces charges of 3rd degree criminal sexual conduct, terrorizing, aggravated assault and family violence after he allegedly held a 48-year-old woman, known to him, hostage and forced her to have sex with him against her will multiple times. The victim took the stand today detailing how Namio allegedly beat and force her to have sex with him during their three year relationship. The victim stated he allegedly beat her with a broomstick and a wooden 2-x-4 on one occasion. The defense argues the alleged abuse never happened, as she only decided to report it to police this year. The victim told the court she did not report the abuse because she feared namio. Trial continues tomorrow before Judge Michael Bordallo.
