Guam - Valiant Shield 2012 kicks-off tomorrow in and around the island. The exercise consists of Air Force, Navy and Marine Corps personnel who will be testing their skills during the joint military forces operation. The military showed island media some of the aircrafts that will be participating in the exercise for the next couple of weeks.

The team is training for missions anywhere from conventional war fighting to humanitarian missions. Colonel Jack Stokes leads the 13th Air Force, which is based out of Hickham Air Force Base in Honolulu. "The chances we have to work together jointly are few and far between so every opportunity we do get is a great chance to fine tune our techniques to help us become more reliable and capable to meet any kind of contingency worldwide," he said.

Valiant Shield begins tomorrow and will continue through the 19th.
