Johnson files suit against GAIN over membership
by Mindy Aguon
Guam - A former Guam Animals if Need board of directors member is fighting to remain a part of the non-profit organization she helped found. Assistant U.S. Attorney Karon Johnson has filed suit after her membership was revoked.
Last year Johnson ran for a seat on the board but was not elected. Her volunteer status was revoked after the board received complaints that Johnson was acting in violation of shelter procedures and was insubordinate to the shelter manager. In July the board terminated her membership completely, saying she isn't eligible to petition to be a member again until the next board is installed.
Johnson claims the organization lacks authority to refuse to renew her membership and wants the court to forbid GAIN from revoking or refusing to renew her membership.
