Guam - The Guam International Airport Authority was granted more than $80,000 by the agency's board of directors with which to purchase two new Police Interceptors for its vehicle fleet. Airport Police chief Bob Camacho says out the fleet of seven, only two units are still operating. He adds the current vehicles do not provide enough transport room when officers make an arrest.
"We've been using civilian vehicles and trying to save money and what we do is take an Xterra or Pathfinder and we transform it into a law enforcement vehicle and put in a radio, lights and computer system and it messes up the whole electronic system," he said.
Camacho adds the units promise longer lasting lifespan for field operations.
