DOA tweaks glitches so rebates can be mailed
Guam - While the Department of Administration had hoped to mail out health insurance rebates to Government of Guam employees by last week, DOA director Benita Manglona says they ran into a few bumps along the way. The government has 90 days from August 1 to send out the rebates and Manglona is hopeful the checks will be mailed out soon once various technicalities are addressed.
"That was our target to get it out but there are some issues that are beyond our control that needs to be resolved and we are communicating with the Insurance Commission to resolve that before checks are issues, but we are getting close and our target was to get it out by the end of this month and we are hopeful that we'll get it out soon," Manglona told KUAM News.
Manglona says there were some concerns about who exactly is entitled to a rebate and her department is working with staff at Selectcare and the insurance commissioner to make sure those who are eligible receive a rebate.
