Guam - The Guam Board of Allied Health Examiners confirms it is conducting a review of whether a veterinarian who is applying for a license on Guam has already been practicing without it. Board member Dr. Velma Harper confirms the board received information that the applicant has been practicing on animals at a local clinic.
Dr. Harper says the board will be questioning the applicant about it but says no official complaint was filed with the board.
Meanwhile, local veterinarians like Dr. Harper are currently in the process of trying to obtain an occupancy permit. She says she believes that none of the island's vets have one and she was informed it wasn't required by the Department of Public Works. However in the last week she's been informed otherwise by the agency and is now working to come into compliance.
