GWA extends time for waterline reimbursement
Guam - The Guam Waterworks Authority has extended the time for developers to be reimbursed for water and wastewater line extension improvements. The previous regulation stated that developers only had five years to be reimbursed but the period has been extended to 15 years.
GWA chief engineer Tom Cruz says the policy change was necessary because many customers would wait until the sixth year so they would not have to reimburse the original water customer who invested in the water line.
Lawmakers allowed for the change in regulation that took effect on August 2.
