Guam - A Port Authority of Guam investigation has led to a letter of reprimand issued to a Port Police officer.  Last week the officer accidentally discharged his duty weapon during working hours. No one was hurt. Port general manager Mary Torres says the agency is reinforcing its safety procedures related to the handling of weapons.

"We are very cognizant of weapons handling and safety measures, when we became aware of this incident the chief of police very promptly addressed it and we want to ensure we don't have any sorts of accidents that can cause harm to other personnel or property at the port," he said.

Torres adds there was no noteworthy damage to the port property as a result of the incident.
