Coroner: Glenn Ybanez's death an accident
by Mindy Aguon
Guam - The death of former Guam resident 37-year-old Glenn Ybanez has been ruled an accident. Ybanez died while in police custody back in July in Las Vegas, Nevada. According to KLAS in Las Vegas, the autopsy showed Yybanez died of a heart condition called dilated cardiomyopathy with a contributing factor being methamphetamine intoxication.
Ybanez was wanted on an out of state criminal warrant and tried to flee from police during a pull over while with his girlfriend. The Army veteran went into a coma after he was taken down and died a day later. Ybanez's brother Richard told KUAM News they don't agree that Glenn's death was an accident. Richard said the matter is still under investigation and the family has an attorney reviewing the case and the coroner's report.
The family is seeking further clarification on what the other contributing factors were aside from the methamphetamine intoxication that led to Ybanez's death.
