Guam - Guam Homeland Security along with its federal counterpart hosted an annual training and exercise planning workshop this past week to develop plans to keep the island's vital resources running even after natural disasters. Homeland Security spokesperson Alyssa Benito says the training allows multiple government agencies to develop a strategic roadmap for providing direction to implement homeland security and emergency management strategies.

"They identify what their weakness is and in the coming years they work on strengthening those weaknesses, so in 2013 our main focus in continuity of operations, so we are able to provide training on the current plans and update them and revise them," she explained.

Benito adds the training is an annual grant requirement.
