Guam - After Guam EPA denied Guam Resource Recovery Partners application for a sanitary landfill permit to be constructed in Atantano, Santa Rita, Agency Administrator Eric Palacios Informed His Board The Company Now Is Requesting Information.

"At present the agency is working on a FOIA request that was submitted by Attorney Arriola on behalf of GRRP and because this matter could potentially end up in litigation I cannot comment further at this time," he said.

Meanwhile also during Thursday's board meeting, Palacios notified the board that they are moving forward with issuing a notice of violation against Thomas Taitano, who was running an illegal dump in Yigo. The dump was discovered several weeks after Guam Fire responded to fumes emitting from the site. Guam EPA is also moving forward with issuing Trashco a notice of violation for a recent incident at Public Health.

Last month the trash hauler picked up their trash bins from the Mangilao agency, but left the trash sitting in the parking lot. Public health evidently was behind in paying their bill.
