Rodriguez discusses injunction case decision
Healthcare Committee chair Senator Dennis Rodriguez, Jr. says the ruling is a victory for the consumers, the employees of both agencies and the entire island.
Guam - With a federal judge's decision to return management of Mental Health and DISID back to government directors, Healthcare Committee chair Senator Dennis Rodriguez, Jr. says the ruling is a victory for the consumers, the employees of both agencies and the entire island. Judge Consuelo Marshall ordered the transfer of management from the federal management team to DISID immediately on the caveat that funding for certain programs be transferred to Mental Health.
She also ordered that the federal management team remain on board for the next three months to allow for a transition until the director takes back authority on December 3. Senator Rodriguez acknowledged the efforts of the FMT and says he looks forward to working with the directors to ensure a smooth transition.
