Guam - The Department of Education is slated to hear from their federal counterparts on Friday morning. According to Governor Eddie Calvo's education advisor Vince Leon Guerrero, USDOE has called for a conference call with Guam DOE to get more details on their request to extend the deadline to obligate $60 million in ARRA funds by September 30. Leon Guerrero says weekly phone calls with USDOE appear positive/ Friday's meeting will just provide details on projects, timelines, and holdups in procurement.

BBMR's Art Mariano, DOE superintendent Jon Fernandez, and DOE deputy superintendent of finance and administrative services Taling Taitano will be present for Friday's meeting.
