Guam - The Department of Administration will begin mailing out nearly $6 million worth of tax refunds early tomorrow morning. According to Department of Administration director Benita Manglona, she received $5.8 million worth of checks this morning from the Department of Revenue & Taxation, which the Treasurer of Guam is currently processing.

"We are very happy that we're able to do this because we fought hard to get the tax refunds out and we worked on the bond, and if our plan had been followed we would have paid everything; but, of course, there were other obligations that needed to be paid that was included by the Legislature so we were not able to meet our plans so that's why we have to pay the taxpayers as cash becomes available and that's our goal," Manglona explained.

About $14.5 million in tax refunds would be distributed in the coming weeks to pay for 2011 and prior year. The money is from additional child tax credit reimbursements and rebates from Calvo's Selectcare.
