Casino operations continue
by Nick Delgado
Guam - If you've driven by the site of the Liberation Carnival in Barrigada, you may have noticed the casino is still open. Evidently the facility got the approval to continue operations for the next couple of weeks.
Barrigada Vice Mayor June Blas says she got the green light from the Department of Revenue & Taxation as well as the governor to use the facility for games of chance during her village fiesta. The casino will operate through September 2 and is only open from 6pm-6am on August 23-25, 30th, 31st, and September 1-2.
Blas says twenty percent of the profits will go to the Barrigada Municipal Planning Council to benefit sports and community events.
