Guam – A 22 year old man accused of sexually molesting a 13 year old female minor on more than one occasion was acquitted of the charges in Superior court today. Jacob Meno faced charges of 1st degree criminal sexual conduct after the minor told police he allegedly forced her to have sexual intercourse with him.

The victim took the witness stand and identified Meno in the courtroom. However, she remained silent each time the prosecution questioned her about the allegations against Meno. The court notes the witness was not responsive and she was dismissed from the witness stand. Assistant Attorney General Brian Gallagher says the judgment of acquittal is similar to a not guilty verdict.

He adds, "Although the victim was incapable of recounting the facts, she is a beautiful girl that did her best and was brave enough to appear in court." Meno was released from the custody of the Department of Corrections late this afternoon.
