Guam - In response to dead fish washing up along Pago Bay last week, the Guam Environmental Protection Agency met with the Department of Agriculture, the UOG Marine Lab, the UOG Sea Grant, Coastal Management, and the Natural Resources Conservation Service to review and improve protocol, which will now include an extensive public outreach component.

An online site for the public to report fish kills or other specific environmental issues will be developed as well as a publicized list of contact numbers and locations to report fish kill incidents.

The dead fish may have been a result of low tides, higher water temperatures in the afternoon hours, and heavy rains that can affect fish by changing the salinity of the water.
