Guam - The Army Corps of Engineers has assured the Department of Parks and Recreation director Pete Calvo that they will conduct an assessment on the erosion problem at Nimitz Beach in Agat. Nearly two years ago the land along the shoreline is literally sinking into the water, and several concrete park structures have already fallen in as well.

As a temporary solution they planted trees and place rocks along the shoreline to reduce the erosion. Calvo said no official date is set on when the Army COE will conduct the assessment.
