Guam - Veterans Cemetery in Piti has been without water for nearly a month. According to Veterans Affairs administrator John Unpingco, he's questioning their cumulative bill along with how its water meter is being read. "I feel somebody has to reconcile the accounts and it doesn't just end here, and I'm beginning to question more and more going back if the readings are estimated," he said.
He says while its bills have been paid consistently, he says some of them actually don't reflect the usage as bills had ranged from $4,000 to most recently about $14,000. He says water is needed not for watering plants but for the bathrooms at the cemetery. He is in discussions with the Department of Administration and Guam Waterworks Authority to resolve the discrepancies in their billing along with reconnecting the water.
