Guam - Yoga lovers can look forward to a weekend-long event featuring one of the founders of power yoga. Synergy Studio owner Clare Calvo Smith says Bryan Kest has been practicing yoga since 1979, studied in India, and has been teaching since 1985.

Smith says Kest's style is a combination of vinyasa and ashtanka yoga and will challenge the participant physically and mentally. "Inner-strength, outer-strength, flexibility, agility balance, core strength, and of course that's the physical part of it. Bryan's style is very although its strength building physically, it's also mentally because you're holding poses for quite a while and he has a great meditation practice as well," she explained.

The workshop is Open Level and set for August 17-19 at the Aurora Resort. To sign up, call the Synergy Studio at 472-YOGA (9642). Members are $300 and non-members $325. Bring a water and towel.
