Guam - The Attorney General's Office has completed its review of the Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse's proposed fee schedule, and according to the agency, all that's left is for Attorney General Leonardo Rapadas to signoff on it. Once signed, it will be transmitted to the Legislature.
Vice Speaker B.J. Cruz meanwhile has been asking for the fee schedule for implementation so GovGuam can realize that savings annually. He wanted to get the fee schedule out before lawmakers go into session in a few weeks so they can include parts of it in the next fiscal year budget and reduce the Mental Health appropriations.
The fees are expected to generate $9 million and $12 million that could be saved from the General Fund. Mental Health says this will be the first time a fee schedule will be in existence.
