Won Pat requests COR to withdraw referral

Guam - Speaker Judi Won Pat has responded to Senator Chris Duenas' numerous requests for a hearing on his Bucks for Busses bill by not calling for a hearing but instead stating that senatorial salaries and school bus operations does not fall within the Committee on Education's purview and requests the Committee on Rules to re-refer it to another committee with subject matter jurisdiction.

Senator Rory Respicio, who chairs the rules committee, responds  by saying he referred the bill to her committee because of her interest in the measure and how it relates to education, adding that if any senator including the speaker disagrees with the referral then they can bring it up to his committee. He has since informed Won Pat's that this is her recourse and that in the meantime they should proceed and schedule a public hearing to be consistent with her assurances made to Senator Duenas.
