Philippine flood victims need our help

Guam - Hundreds of thousands of people are spilling into evacuation centers awaiting aid, as large parts of Manila remain submerged in floods. Days of downpour have transformed roads into rivers in Metro Manila and nearby provinces. Some parts of the Philippine capitol are left completely submerged in water.
"The number of affected families have already reached 454,000 families," explained Philippine Consul General of Guam Bayani Mangibin - that's almost 2,000,000 in Metro Manila and five other provinces affected by flooding. A total of 10 metro cities and municipalities in Manila and six provinces in Luzon have been placed under a state of calamity due to relentless rains.
So far there have been 20 fatalities, nine of which died in a landslide in Quezon City and eight died from drowning. On Guam, the island community is mobilizing to send help. "Right now the Filipino Community of Guam through the leadership of Emelio Uy, who is the chairman of the board, of course the president Leah Beth Naholowaa, they're now coordinating with us these relief efforts," said Mangibin.
Whether its monetary relief or donations such as canned goods, clothing and toiletries, you can dropoff your donations to National Office Supply's warehouse in Barrigada, Senator Tina Muna Barnes office or at the KUAM Studios in Harmon.
