Guam - Dave Davis is opposed to the government's motion for a stay and says they are ready for trial in regards to his lawsuit against the government for not being able to register for the political status plebiscite.

The Attorney General's Office is seeking a stay of the trial date and discovery in the case until the District Court makes a decision on whether to dismiss the lawsuit for lack of jurisdiction. Davis filed suit alleging the plebiscite is racially discriminative and a violation of federal law.

Magistrate Judge Joaquin Manibusan has recommended the suit be thrown out because the case wasn't ripe for judicial review and Davis lacked standing to sue.  Davis opposes the recommendation and the parties are waiting on the District Court chief judge to decide on the matter.
