GPA completes Hagatna breaker replacement
Guam - The Guam Power Authority held a ribbon cutting this morning for the completion of the Hagatna Breaker Replacement Project in Mongmong. According to GPA general manager Joaquin Flores, because a majority of all the power generated from Cabras goes to this substation first, it was a critical project.
"The project that was just completed will help improve the quality of the power, you won't see as many fluctuations, it will improve the efficiency of the power because now you have better efficiency in the equipment and the reliability, the reliability is that we have this state of the art equipment helps reduce our operating expenses," he said.
The project cost $3 million funded through the 2010 bond sales and will last for the next 40 years.
