Guam - It was about a year ago when Governor Eddie Calvo toured Sagan Linahyan and today GHURA broke ground for the renovation of 10 homes in the Dededo area. The homes will be converted to affordable rental housing.

What's unique about today's event is that it was also part of the grand opening ceremony for the new Sagan Linahyan Family Center. The center will be the home for community services and resources.

Guam Housing Corporation president Martin Benavente says the work isn't over, telling KUAM News, "It's in the hopes that we can bring people and professionals who can help us revitalize this community here as our purpose here is to help revitalize Sagan Linahyan."

CSR has been providing community-based family education and youth development services through their nurturing neighborhood networks program since October 2011. As for the ten homes, they hope to have them renovated in the next few months.
