Guam - Another bill's been introduced to help the Department of Public Works and their school bus crisis. According to Minority Leader Frank Blas Jr., Bill 495 gives DPW the power to prioritize their needs.

"What this bill provides first off is a authorization to utilize those funds that were available for the Gill-Baza project," he said. "The law that provided that money said it could only go there. What we did is lifted those restrictions freed up the opportunity to be able to use this but at the same token they may want to finish Route 17 route road paving project they also have an issue in regards to the bussing."

The Gill-Baza project came under cost. DPW would have the power to use the remaining $375,000 towards Route 17 or bus maintenance.

Co-sponsors of the bill include senators Aline Yamashita, Tony Ada, Mana Silva Taijeron, Sam Mabini, Chris Duenas, Rory Respicio, Judi Guthertz and Tom Ada.
