by Nick Delgado
Guam - An apparent verbal altercation between an Andersen Air Force base airman and 41 year old Gordon Lee Wright resulted in Saturday night's shooting in Macheche. Police say Wright did not know the airman, and the two were arguing just before gunshots were fired. Investigators are still trying to piece together what sparked the dispute. As we reported, the victim was shot on his right arm while inside his vehicle parked on Kayen Komplimento street. The airman's blood splattered inside the vehicle, an exit hole from a bullet pierced the driver side door, and blood trailed from the car towards the driveway where he was found lying on the ground. The unidentified airman is recovering at Tripler Army Medical Center in Hawaii. Police say he is currently in good condition and is conscious and alert. GPD is working with Air Force office of special investigations agents to speak with the victim and determine why the alleged shooting occured. Police have not yet found the weapon used and continue the investigation. Wright was booked and confined on charges of attempted murder, possession and use of a deadly weapon in the commission of a felony and possession of a firearm with no ID.
