Guam - Good news for DOE southern and central schools: Governor Eddie Calvo put pen to paper and signed three ARRA contracts for $2.5 million in structural repairs and roof coatings as well as a million-dollar contract for science, technology, engineering, and math upgrades at the Untalan Middle School campus in Barrigada.

UMS principal Jim Reyes said, "This of course is great news for the community of Untalan Middle School because now our children will be able to engage in true full blown lab activities for their science classes."

Each of the principals thanked the governor for expediting the procurement process for the contracts as rainy season is upon us and many of the older schools suffer from leaking ceilings.
